Find What’s Right With You

Through everything you’ve experienced, you are still here. You have an inner healer who’s been there all along, you just need to feel safe and contained enough to hear it.

I'm comfortable holding space to heal many expressions of trauma:

Complex Trauma/C-PTSD

You wake up on edge, like something bad is going to happen. You have trouble trusting people, even those closest to you. You go from calm to angry to sad in a second. You’re terrified of betrayal or abandonment. You want to feel safe, be able to regulate your big emotions, have a stronger sense of self, and feel connected to others. Complex trauma is relational, and may include developmental (childhood) trauma and sexual trauma.

Anxiety and Panic Attacks

You’re constantly worried about things, big and small, and your mind likes to race about things in the past or the future. Your muscles are tense, and headaches or stomach aches are the norm. You have sudden, intense feelings of fear that seem to come out of nowhere. Your heart races, you feel dizzy, you feel afraid of losing control. You want to be able to relax and slow down, and not panic about things that aren’t happening in the present moment.

Relationship Struggles

You want a healthy relationship, but you don’t know how. You push people away before they can hurt you, or you grasp so tightly to people that you suffocate them. You may have a hard time recognizing what your boundaries are or verbalizing them to people. You’ve read about attachment styles, and you see parts of yourself in one or more of the insecure varieties.

Intergenerational Resilience and Trauma

You have a deep feeling that what you’re experiencing didn’t start with you. You probably see the patterns playing out in your family and in your own life. And you’re committed to be the one to break the chain, not just for yourself, but for those who came before you and those who may come after.

Single-Event Trauma/PTSD

You haven’t felt the same since that thing happened. You can’t stop thinking about it, or you avoid reminders at all costs. Sometimes you feel scared to go to sleep because of the nightmares, and your friends keep asking why you’re so jumpy. You just want to move on.

Veterans and First Responders are included here.

Chronic Pain or Syndromes

Your doctors tell you “there’s nothing wrong with you,” but your experience in your body says otherwise. Or maybe you got a syndromal diagnosis, your doctor can’t explain why it’s happening, but you know deep down that it’s related to trauma or stress. You miss being able to do the things you enjoyed before the pain or syndrome(s) – you want your quality of life back.

FAQ

What if what I need help with isn’t listed?

Please contact me! Everyone is a unique human with unique needs, and I could never list everything someone may need support with. If I do not have the tools to best support you, I will help you find someone who does.

How long will I be in therapy?

It depends on so many things! When we start therapy together, we will talk about what you would like to change, and what it will look like when you’ve arrived there. I’ve worked with people for as little as 6 months, and others I’ve been working with my entire career.

Do you see couples? Kids?

Nope, kids and couples are not for me. I can direct you to my trusted colleagues who do though!

Do you offer telehealth appointments?

I do offer telehealth appointments based on scheduling availability, but I highly prefer in-person if at all possible. Seeing your entire body is helpful in somatic therapy, and there are practices that can only be done in-person, including supportive therapeutic consensual touch.

What is the typical length of sessions and how often do we meet?

A therapy session is about 50 minutes long. Typically when I start seeing someone new, we meet weekly, and as you get better, we go down in frequency. However, biweekly is an option to start based on your level of need, availability, and finances.

What if we don’t connect?

If you feel it, I’ll feel it too! The consultation we have before we start therapy is a good way to feel out the vibe before you commit to anything, but it can take a few sessions to really know.  Therapeutic fit is super important to me, and if I notice we aren’t connecting, I will help you find a better fit. I do not take it personally!

What if I want to see you, but I don’t have availability during your current open times?

Please still reach out! My time slots often change, and I will keep you on my waitlist. I am also happy to provide documentation for your workplace so that you can use FMLA or ADA accomodations to attend your appointments.
