FAQ
What if what I need help with isn’t listed? Please contact me – I work with more than what I’ve listed! Everyone is a unique human with unique needs, and I could never list everything someone may need support with. If I do not have the tools to best support you, I will help you find someone who does.
How long will I be in therapy?
It depends on so many things! When we start therapy together, we will talk about what you would like to change, and what it will look like when you’ve arrived there. I’ve worked with people for as little as 6 months, and others I’ve been working with my entire career.
What if I want to see you, but I don’t have availability during your current open times?
Please still reach out! My time slots often change, and I will keep you on my waitlist. I am also happy to provide documentation for your workplace so that you can use FMLA or ADA accomodations to attend your appointments.
What is the typical length of sessions and how often do we meet?
A therapy session is about 50 minutes long. Typically when I start seeing someone new, we meet weekly, and as you get better, we go down in frequency. However, biweekly is an option to start based on your level of need, availability, and finances.
What if we don’t connect?
If you feel it, I’ll feel it too! The consultation we have before we start therapy is a good way to feel out the vibe before you commit to anything, but it can take a few sessions to really know. Therapeutic fit is super important to me, and if I notice we aren’t connecting, I will help you find a better fit. I do not take it personally!
Do you see couples? Kids?
Nope, kids and couples are not for me. I can direct you to my trusted colleagues who do though!
Do you offer telehealth appointments?
I do offer telehealth appointments based on scheduling availability, but I highly prefer in-person if at all possible. Seeing your entire body is helpful in somatic therapy, and there are practices that can only be done in-person, including supportive therapeutic consensual touch.
