I show up well because I’ve been there.

I’m a complex trauma survivor, and I’ve seen some shit. After struggling for way too much of my life, somatics brought me home to myself, and into deeper connection with other people, animals, the Earth, and my ancestors. I believe you can change because I’ve changed. Let’s do it together.

You’ve heard the saying “Trauma lives in the body.” You know it’s true because you’re living it, and you’re at a point in your life where you’re ready to do the damn thing. There’s a good chance that you’ve done talk therapy already – the CBT and the self help books, maybe even yoga and meditation, but you can’t seem to get any further, and you know there’s gotta be something more. You’re critical of oppressive power structures within the therapy world (and in your day to day life), and you’re looking for someone to see you as a whole human, not a mental illness diagnosis.

Together, we will

Develop Trust in Yourself

The expert on you is you. But sometimes the world, and what we’ve been through, causes us to lose that truth. To support you in coming home to yourself, we move at the speed of trust. We learn your body’s language. We let it tell us what’s next, and we trust it. This is therapy that moves slowly, one drop at a time, to ensure that you’re able to be present in your body and connected to your innate human-ness every step of the way.

Connect With Something Deeper

You’ve already thought through the “why’s” , so now we’re going to feel into the “whats.” Your body possesses incredible wisdom and knowledge, and it has the ability to connect you to deeper ways of being. Whether it’s ancestral knowledge, the wisdom of the earth, or the magic that only you possess, I’m here for it and in it with you.

Recover From Trauma

Trauma isn’t the thing that happened, it’s the way your body holds it. When given enough safety, support, and containment, your body will show us what it needs that it didn’t get before (and now we can provide it) . Your body will show us its survival patterns. As we get to know them, you will recognize the ways your body is right instead of wrong, and with that comes a natural sense of agency and more room to choose what happens.

Liberate Yourself and Others

Embodiment is a political act because white supremacist, capitalist, imperialist patriarchy crumbles when we connect to our own bodies. When are embodied in a space of belonging with others, we can feel and share our truths, witness our shared humanity, and realize that we have the power and agency to resist that which attempts to disconnect us. Embodiment is reclaiming our humanness that has been taken from us.

It’s Your Time

In somatic therapy, we center the story of your body. This is the story that we’ve been taught to ignore, or that we’ve learned to ignore during experiences of stress or trauma. When your body gets to tell its story, and be heard, it doesn’t have to keep trying to tell you in ways that might be getting in the way of the life you want to live. You can stop repeating painful patterns (which may include chronic physical pain), recreating shitty relational dynamics, or feeling stuck. Are you ready to listen to your body tell you how?

“Trauma is a fact of life. It does not, however, have to be a life sentence” – Peter Levine

Curious?

I want you to be able to say “yes” with a full heart, and “no” with solid ground under your feet – with me and everyone else in your life. That first yes or no starts with your free consultation to see if we could be a good fit.
